discovery: Antoon Van Dyck ontdekt

Een onbekend schilderij van Antoon Van Dyck werd ontdekt in een BBC-programma Antiques Roadshow waarin mensen hun antiek en dergelijke door experten kunnen laten schatten. 

Het werk was in het bezit van priester Jamie McLeod die een rusthuis leidt in Derbyshire. Hij zei dat hij het schilderij wilde verkopen om nieuwe bellen voor zijn kerkgebouw te financieren.Het schilderij is een portret van een Brusselse magistraat, dat allicht een voorbereidend werk was voor een schilderij uit 1634 waarop zeven magistraten staan. - http://www.cobra.be/cm/cobra/kunsten/131229-sa-vandyck_bbc

An unknown painting of Antoon Van Dyck was discovered in the BBC-programme Antiques Roadshow, where experts assess value of antiquities.

Father Jamie McLeod, who runs a retreat house in north Derbyshire, first took the artwork to Newstead Abbey, Nottinghamshire, in 2012. He said he was now planning to sell the piece to buy new church bells. The painitng is a portrait of a Magistrate of Brussels which is believed to have been completed as a part of the artist's preparation for a work showing seven magistrates, dated from 1634. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-25535536

Dit "driedubbel portret" vind ik zeer interessant. Even kijken of er hedendaagse invullingen van zijn.
I find this triple painting of Charles I very interessting and I wonder if their are modern interpretations.

Emoticons zijn de moderne versie van grotschilderingen en hiërogliefen. Het zijn allemaal visuele talendie met een reeks afbeeldingen een idee uitdrukken. Dat menen ze althans bij het vermaarde kunstencentrum 'Eyebeam Art + Technology Center' in New York. Morgen opent daar de eerste tentoonstelling die is gewijd aan emoticons. Bedoeling is de relatie tussen emoticons en de popcultuur te verkennen en de betekenis van emoticons in menselijke relaties bloot te leggen.

Niet zo actueel, maar te grappig om niet te posten. Gelukkig stond het nog in mijn "favorieten".

Liefde gaat door de maag! Bij mij is dat zeker het geval en ook televisieland heeft de culinaire wereld ontdekt. De hype rond eten is al wat afgezwakt, maar mensen worden zich steeds meer bewust van hun eten en worden dus ook wat creatiever. Wat vind jij van deze presentaties?

Love goes through the stomach! Especially in my case. Television has also discovered the culinary world. The hype isn't anymore at its peak, but people are becoming more and more aware of their food and therefore becoming more creative. What do you think of these presentations?

Food! Art(?)

Persoonlijk ben ik niet zo voor "food art" te vinden. Het is wel eens leuk en grappig. Maar mijn maag zou er zeker niet van gevuld raken. Culinair weinig interessant, maar educatief gezien heeft het wel zijn waarde om kinderen interesse in hun eten te krijgen waardoor die vieze groentjes misschien toch binnen gaan.

Eten: ja Kunst: niet echt..

Personally, I am not a big fan of "food art". It's pretty funny, but my tummy wouldn't be full after these meals.. Culinary not very interisting, but it has an educational value to get your kids interested in food and perhaps get them to eat those icky veggies.

Food: yes Art: not really..

Maar dat wil niet zeggen dat je geen kunst kunt creëren uit voedsel! Hiervan getuigen onderstaande voorbeelden!

But that doesn't mean you can't create art from food! As these examples will prove!

Urban exploring

Vooraleer ik begin: mijn blog is mij te ambitieus geworden, met andere woorden te veel tijd in 1 post steken. Dus "Less is more" en voortaan zal ik de actualiteit "re-posten" en wordt deze blog een verzameling/krant. Niet dat ik mijn gedachtegang helemaal weglaat, het blijft tenslotte nog een blog.

Aangezien ikzelf (en mijn lief) ook bezig ben met verbouwingen zullen hieronder mijn eigen foto's volgen. Je zal meer foto's van details vinden dan van grote ruimtes want dit is niet mijn sterkte, maar dat kan natuurlijk nog komen!

Since me and my boyfriend are working in our own house, I will post some pictures of my own where you will get a look of the constructions. My style of photography is different than the urban exploring because I focus more on details, however I will try and develop my skills of photographing the actual spaces.
